Helping our cat survive illness

Our family of four consists of one male and one female human, and one male and one female cat. It is our male cat, Longfellow, who became ill with a slowly progressive kidney disease.

I, the female human, have been working closely with our vet to help Longfellow be as healthy as he can be. One of the biggest difficulties is to make sure he eats enough since he has become considerably underweight.

This cat communication app is the best Ive found for recreating cat sounds in a totally accurate way (and of course Ive tried the others). If I suspect that Longfellow may be hungry but too out of the habit of seeking food, I play the "food anticipation" sound several times. If my suspicion is right, he will come running to me licking his chops (his communication back to me!!
